At the General Hospital of Messinia – Nursing Unit of Kalamata was successfully installed and activated by SolarWay, Photovoltaic System of Self-consuption (Net metering) power 20 kWp.

This project is the first step towards the great goal set by the Administration of the Hospital of Kalamata for the installation of photovoltaic self-consumption net-metering 1 MW in the parking spaces of the Hospital.

This project is the first step towards the great goal set by the Administration of the Hospital of Kalamata for the installation of photovoltaic self-generating net-metering 1 MW in the parking spaces of the Hospital.

It is part of the overall effort of the General Hospital of Messinia to save electricity. Its impact is particularly significant both economically and environmentally and is in full alignment with National and European policies to address the effects of climate change.

The project was assigned to SolarWay, following a tender announced by the General Hospital of Messinia.

The photovoltaic system consists of

  • 70 photovoltaic panels of Aleo Solar GmbH, Germany type S19 285 Wp
  • 1 inverter of SMA Technologie AG, Germany type Sunny Tripower 20000 TL-30
  • Mounting structure of Alumil Solar

The photovoltaic system has been interconnected in the Middle Voltage and is expected to produce 32,000 kWh per year, which will supply green energy to the Kalamata Nursing Unit of the General Hospital of Messinia.

The design of the photovoltaic system follows the standards IEC 62446-1: 2016 and IEC 62446-2: 2020 «Photovoltaic (PV) systems – Requirements for testing, documentation and maintenance – Part 1: Grid connected systems – Documentation, commissioning tests and inspection and Part 2: Grid connected systems – Maintenance of PV systems »

The photovoltaic system has been inspected according to IEC 62446-1: 2016 and is in compliance with the requirements of IEC 60364-6.
